The real question is, is Rochester ready for a Real Beer Week? We are busy to prove that yes, yes we are because we know Rochesterians like Real Beer.
This week the Brewers Association has published annual sales numbers for 2011 and things are looking very hoppy. “Craft brewers saw volume rise 13 percent, with a 15 percent increase in retail sales from 2010 to 2011″ (Brewers Association). Rochester is enthusiastically embracing this shift; new venues are popping up, drinkers are asking for Real Beer, and brewers are happy to accommodate.
Popularity from the Real Beer Expo 2011 inspired the birth of The Real Beer Week; BASWA is partnering with venues, community based groups, breweries, and with you to present the first annual Rochester Real Beer Week, June 15-23.
It is time to mark your calendars, secure some time off, schedule a babysitter, and reserve a hotel room. The Real Beer Week is coming whether we’re ready or not.
