The last time I typed I promised to fill you in on everything that I learned as I heard it. In order to keep that promise I would be posting blog updates almost daily that would look more like a Twitter feed than a fully formed thought. Here I have two events: one launch and one closing; I hope this will help you build out your week from here.
LAUNCH JUNE 15, 2012
The Official Kickoff to the Rochester Real Beer Week with 3HB at Sticky Lips Juke Joint (Event Starts @ 5pm, Music begins at 9pm. $5 Cover after 9pm for Music–no cover all night in the bar/restaurant, NO TICKETS NECESSARY)
“The best city in the world is going to hold the best beer week. We are honored to be throwing the kickoff party with our pals at Sticky Lips. It is going to be a total tap takeover (55 taps) of Rochester only beers.
If that was not enough, we are bringing the tunes to this party too. The soundtrack to this EPIC party will be provided by The Moho Collective, Subsoil and the heaviest band in the Roc……ROOTSCOLLIDER. Prepare to drink, dance and then for face melting ferociousness. ” ~ Geoff Dale
ClOSING FESTIVITIES JUNE 22-24th
“As a part of Rochester Real Beer Week we will be hosting a 3 DAY long cask festival featuring over 30 of the best beers from across the world! We have searched far and wide for the best breweries in the US and from across the pond, resulting in a worldclass cask ale offering!
Many of these beers have been customized by the brewers specifically for the festival! We have some incredibly rare beers on offer! You will not find cask beers of this quanitity and calibre anywhere else in Rochester! “ ~ Mr. O Toad.
The Old Toad have announced many of their cask selections. Check their website and event page for full details and cask listing as they become available. If you want Toad Bucks/Wristband (their version of “tasting tickets”) for this event you can grab them from the pub or call and have them held or mailed to you. The front room will be closed off for those with wristbands on Friday and Saturday during the event. Jules and crew are so accommodating they will do just about anything to be sure everyone gets a chance to participate in this crazy event. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to drop them a note on Facebook, stop into the pub, or give them a call 585.232.2626.
Remember, there is a pull out, paper event listing in the June 6th edition of The City Newspaper. This will be your handy dandy guide for events and can serve as a prod for making your way through a crowded bar; I told you we tried to think of everything!
